Ann Montgomery, M.Ed., specializes in guiding students and families through the college choice and application process.
Ann delights in assisting students of all abilities to find colleges that are a good match for their interests, needs, and capacities. A good portion of Ann's time is spent visiting college campuses in order to gain up-to-date understanding of the types of students who would thrive there. She also regularly attends and participates in professional conferences, particularly those of the National Association of College Admission Counseling and the Independent Educational Consultants Association, where she has served as Vice President, member of the Board of Directors, and Chair of the College Committee. Ann has also served on the Credentialing Commission and the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners.
She attended Swarthmore College as an undergraduate and received her Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston. “I wanted to give you an update on how Therese is doing at college. In a nutshell, she is doing incredibly well! She was obviously nervous when school started but quickly immersed herself in some activities and made several friends. I spoke with her yesterday and she told me that she absolutely loves the entire college experience; she finds her classes extremely interesting and challenging and gets along very well with her roommate. Probably the most important thing for me to hear as a mother is that, for the first time, Therese feels as if she is part of a group of people who share her issues, interests, and activities.”
